Names of mountaineers missing in the mountains of Kyrgyzstan revealed. Two of them are Belarusians
100 thousand dollars are being raised to search for the Lithuanian and two Belarusians.
A group of three experienced mountaineers went missing in the mountains of Kyrgyzstan after ascending Karumdu Peak: Lithuanian citizen Sergey Rubtsov and two Belarusians — Maxim Polyansky and Nikolai Sviridov, writes Delfi.
They have not been in contact since last Sunday, when they intended to begin their descent from an altitude of about 6000 meters.
Rescuers from the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan, border guards, and volunteers from Switzerland have already discovered the group's empty tent at an altitude of about 5000 meters, but drones and ground teams cannot yet ascend higher due to the complex terrain and poor weather conditions.
At least $100,000 is required for a rescue operation involving a helicopter and professional high-altitude mountaineers. Relatives and friends of the missing have opened a fundraiser to cover the costs of equipment and the special team.
