Khrenin told how Lukashenka's order to send unproductive agricultural workers to the army will be carried out
The Ministry of Defense of Belarus is developing an action plan following Aliaksandr Lukashenka's statement about the need to conscript agricultural workers who, in his opinion, are not properly performing their duties during the harvesting campaign. This was announced by Defense Minister Viktar Khrenin after he allegedly reported to Lukashenka (Lukashenka himself, as usual on Wednesdays, was not shown).
On July 22, during a meeting dedicated to the harvest, Lukashenka, addressing the problem of labor discipline amidst a staff shortage, stated that instead of applying other disciplinary measures, those "who cannot work" should be sent to the army and to the southern border of the country.
According to Viktar Khrenin, after this instruction, military commissars have already begun preparatory work. In the near future, they will hold joint meetings with local authorities, determine the order of actions, and then visit farms to provide them with the necessary assistance during the harvest.
The minister clarified that this does not involve sending such workers for urgent military service. According to him, people who are unwilling to work conscientiously are planned to be called up for military training camps.
As the head of the Ministry of Defense emphasized, the purpose of such gatherings will not be the "re-education" of undisciplined workers, but rather the improvement of the combat readiness of military reservists. He noted that these measures will be used to enhance the level of military training for reservists.
