A citizen of Belarus, Aliaksandr Balukha, was found guilty of receiving 24 small bribes. In total, he earned 37,500 Russian rubles (about 1425 Belarusian rubles).
The Rylsk District Court of the Kursk Region of Russia sentenced Balukha to a fine of 100,000 rubles (about 3800 Belarusian rubles). The amount of the received bribes must also be paid.
Balukha worked as a master of industrial training at the Rylsk Aviation Technical College, which is a branch of the Moscow State Technical University of Civil Aviation (MSTU CA) in the Kursk Region. He was appointed to this position in March 2022 and dismissed in November 2024, when the bribes became known.
Balukha took money from cadets for formally passing the interim certification in the subject "Educational practice." The cost depended on the desired grade: a "three" cost from 1000 Russian rubles (approximately from 38 Belarusian rubles), a "four" — from 1500 Russian rubles (about 57 Belarusian rubles), a "five" — 2000 rubles (about 76 Belarusian rubles). Cadets transferred funds to the phone number linked to Balukha's account. After that, he assigned the promised grade without checking anyone's knowledge.
The Belarusian lecturer pleaded guilty and even wrote a confession for some episodes — but only after he was caught red-handed.
