In the 'Euroopt' online store 'E-delivery', two types of prickly cucumbers began to be sold. One of them came with a markup and the label 'halal', which greatly outraged one of the Threads users, noted the publication Blizko.by.

The price difference was small — only 12 kopecks. But what bothered the author was not this, but the fact that the markup was given purely because of the product's 'halal' status.
«How can this not be explained as a halal tax? Can someone explain what's going on? Do cucumbers also go through the entire 'halalization' process?» — the user was outraged.

In the comments, people were also outraged:
«Complete nonsense. Vegetables have always been halal, what does this markup have to do with anything?»
«Maybe it's a different variety? Or is the label purely a marketing ploy?»
«I understand meat, but what do vegetables have to do with it? They've completely lost their minds.»
«Just yesterday I was googling what halal tomatoes are. In short, these are vegetables that were weeded without swearing and without celebrating the harvest with pork shashlik and cognac.»
«Marketers are not earning their salaries for nothing.»
«These are the ones not fertilized with pig manure.»
Halal products are food and drinks whose composition and preparation process strictly comply with the norms of Islamic law (Sharia). This includes everything that does not contain pork, meat from predatory animals and birds, blood, alcohol, as well as animal fat of unknown origin.
Meat is obtained from healthy animals after a special ritual slaughter. Before this, the animal should not suffer, and during the process itself, a prayer is recited. During production and storage, contact of halal raw materials with forbidden products is excluded. Plant-based products are automatically considered halal.
