Citizens of Armenia arriving from Russia to participate in the parliamentary elections have begun to receive summons for military training at Yerevan Airport and at the border. Taron Chakhoyan, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister's Office, announced this, as reported by "RIA "Novosti".
— Citizens of Armenia arriving "for bribes" from Russia will be called up for 25-day training camps, and those who refuse will be subject to criminal liability, — Chakhoyan said.
Military training camps in Armenia in 2026 are taking place from March 31 to June 19. The Minister of Defense of the Republic, Suren Papikyan, noted that if a citizen arriving in Armenia is a military serviceman, then he has a duty to the homeland. At the same time, according to him, this also applies to those arriving from France, the USA, and other countries.
It was previously reported that Russia allegedly wants to send 100 thousand Armenians living in that country to vote against Pashinyan, as voting from abroad is prohibited.
Parliamentary elections in Armenia are scheduled for June 7. Participants include the ruling "Civil Contract" party led by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, the "Armenia" bloc led by the first president of Nagorno-Karabakh and president of Armenia from 1998-2008 Robert Kocharyan, "Strong Armenia" led by Samvel Karapetyan, as well as "Prosperous Armenia" and "Wings of Unity".
