In thematic groups on social networks, where avid fans of "quiet hunting" gather, a period of lively activity has begun. Mushroom pickers are anticipating the start of the summer season. And some have already opened it, writes Newgrodno.by.
One user shared one of the first chanterelle harvests this year. He collected beautiful, even, young mushrooms. There aren't many of them, but there's enough for soup or a fry-up with potatoes.
The man doesn't hide the location. He said he collected them in the Berastavitsa district, not far from the settlement of Pahranychny.
"A sea of chanterelles. Only moisture and warmth are needed," emphasizes the mushroom picker.
It seems the weather heard him. In the coming days, rain is promised in the Grodno region. Perhaps mushrooms will emerge too.
However, currently, a ban on visiting forests is in effect in many districts due to fire risk. But if the rains come, this status will change.
