Electric Cars to be Produced in Vitebsk

In Vitebsk, they plan to launch the production of special-purpose electric vehicles with the participation of a Chinese partner. The administration of the free economic zone «Vitebsk» has signed a memorandum of intent with the Chinese company «Wancai», the publication «Vitbichi» reports .

The project is currently in the discussion and preparation stage, but the Chinese side is already considering the possibility of starting its implementation in 2026.

The new plant is planned to be located on the territory of the FEZ «Vitebsk». The exact volumes of investments, the number of jobs, and other details are not yet disclosed. It is only known that the enterprise will produce special-purpose electric transport — for industry, logistics, communal services, and other sectors.

This is not the only similar project in Belarus. Earlier, it was reported about the launch of a Belarusian-Chinese production in Polotsk, where they plan to produce electric vehicles for agriculture and housing and communal services. They want to start mass production there in 2026, and by 2028, reach volumes of about 5 thousand vehicles per year.
