Medvedchuk: Zelenskyy tries to draw Minsk into war by rejecting Lukashenka and inviting Tsikhanouskaya

On the day of democratic leader Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya's arrival in Kyiv, Russia unveiled the pro-Russian politician from Ukraine, Putin's godfather Viktor Medvedchuk, whom Ukrainian authorities exchanged for the Azov regiment leadership in 2022.

In his article, Viktor Medvedchuk confirmed the Ukrainian president's version that Belarus is being tried to be drawn into the war. Only he blamed Zelenskyy for this.

Putin's godfather answers the question of why Ukraine would open a second front and stretch it along the border with Belarus. The point is that the West will pay well for Belarus not to contribute to peace – this is what emerges from his words.

"Zelenskyy thinks about something completely different: for him, drawing Belarus into the war is just additional funding, which he so desperately needs.

It is important to eliminate Belarus as a serious factor for de-escalation, as a loyal ally of Russia that stands in the way of Western dictatorship. Therefore, there is a Western order for the demonization of Belarus," he explains.

Medvedchuk was outraged that instead of Lukashenka, Kyiv invited Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya as a guest. He quotes the words of Ukrainian Foreign Ministry head Andriy Sybiha: "Recently we saw a strange statement from Lukashenka that he is ready to meet and come to Kyiv. The Ukrainian side has someone to meet with, and in the near future we expect Tsikhanouskaya's visit to Ukraine. Therefore, we have someone to talk to about the whole range of issues."

"Kyiv is doing everything to provoke Minsk, just as they previously went out of their way to provoke a conflict with Russia. Yes, instead of using Belarus as a platform for peace talks, and Alexander Lukashenka as an experienced negotiator, Tsikhanouskaya is invited to Ukraine," Medvedchuk laments.

Viktor Medvedchuk considers this "pure madness" and blames the Ukrainian authorities for the fact that relations between Belarus and the US have regressed precisely because of their actions.

"How to explain that the White House extended the state of emergency and US sanctions against Belarus for another year? Documents on this matter state that the actions of the Belarusian authorities are considered by Washington as an 'unusual and extraordinary threat' to US national security and foreign policy. This is a clear hindrance to the warming of relations between Belarus and the US after Trump lifted some sanctions from Belarus. Obviously, someone doesn't like this, and Zelenskyy enthusiastically rushed to fulfill the order," he writes.
