After the Change of Government in the Czech Republic, Half of the Countries Left the Ammunition Procurement Initiative for Ukraine
The number of countries financing the Czech initiative to purchase ammunition for Ukraine has significantly decreased — by exactly half. This was reported by Czech President Petr Pavel in an interview with the Financial Times.

According to the Czech president, only 9 states are now participating in the project, whereas previously there were 18.
This raises concerns about the future of the initiative, as it played an important role: providing up to half of all artillery ammunition for Ukraine. Pavel stressed that such support is difficult to quickly replace with other sources.
The reduction in the number of participants in the initiative is linked, among other things, to political changes in the Czech Republic after the return of Andrej Babiš to the post of prime minister. He stated that his government prioritizes the country's domestic needs, especially amidst economic difficulties and rising energy costs.
According to some sources, some countries are unwilling to finance the initiative if it does not have clear and stable support from the leadership of the organizing country.
Nevertheless, the project continues to operate, and its future is planned to be discussed at the upcoming NATO summit in Ankara. Petr Pavel noted that the issue of distributing the financial burden among allies is becoming increasingly relevant.
At the same time, despite political disputes, earlier polls showed that the majority of Czech residents support the continuation of this initiative.
