As a result, the following measures were taken:
- 18 phishing websites (fake online stores, banks, and services) were blocked;
- the possibility of payments to 121 suspicious foreign accounts was halted;
- operations on 78 bank accounts were frozen.
Two individuals acting as couriers in scam schemes were also detained. Approximately 70 thousand rubles were confiscated from them.
Most scams occur through so-called "vishing" — when criminals call and impersonate officials. In addition, common schemes involve deception in online purchases, through social networks, and in "investments" on financial platforms.
In this regard, it is important to remember:
- promises of easy money or very cheap goods are often a scam;
- if you receive a suspicious call, it's best to end the conversation immediately;
- such incidents should be reported to the police by calling 102.
