Child left a scooter on the playground — a couple of hours later it was already handed in for scrap metal

A Minsk resident contacted the police, reporting the theft of a child's scooter, according to the capital's police.

The police identified the suspect — he turned out to be a 57-year-old Minsk resident. He said that while walking around the city, he noticed a scooter left unattended near a children's playground.

Seeing that it was not secured in any way, the man took the property for himself. But he handed the stolen item in for scrap metal and spent the money.

A criminal case has been initiated for theft.
