Trump has decided who will be the new head of American intelligence
55-year-old Aaron Lucas is set to become the acting director of U.S. National Intelligence after Tulsi Gabbard's resignation . He is expected to officially assume the position on June 30.

Aaron Lucas
Not much is known about Aaron Lucas, but he is a professional intelligence officer with extensive experience. For more than 20 years, this person has worked in the field of intelligence, including at the CIA, where he was involved in secret operations in various regions of the world. A significant part of his activities remains classified.
Recently, he served as the first deputy to the former Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, but is not considered her close associate or protégé. He is rather characterized as a career professional who thoroughly understands how the intelligence system is structured from within.
In addition to his work in special services, Lucas also had experience in public administration: in 2020-2021, during Donald Trump's first administration, he worked on the National Security Council, dealing with European and Russian affairs.
Overall, the new head of American intelligence appears to be an experienced and professional specialist, but it is not yet clear how much his appointment will affect U.S. security policy.
