Volha Stroeva is 66 years old. She lived her entire life in Gomel. The woman had her own business — for over twenty years, she sold fish delicacies, red and black caviar. She had to close her business due to the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic.
Volha has two daughters. One lives in Asia, the other in Russia. The woman herself kept cats and dogs at home and was actively interested in esotericism — she practiced "the power of thought", meditations, and the Ho'oponopono method.
Stroeva was arrested in September 2025. The Gomel Regional Court sentenced her under four articles of the Criminal Code at once. She was accused of inciting hatred (Part 1, Art. 130), calls for actions detrimental to national security (Part 3, Art. 361), insulting Lukashenka (Part 1, Art. 368), and aiding extremist activity (Parts 1 and 2, Art. 361‑4 of the Criminal Code).
It is clear that Volha's persecution is related precisely to comments on Telegram. Her account was unprotected: it displayed her own name and photo, and it was linked to her Belarusian number.
It is known that Stroeva was sentenced to a penal colony. She is currently behind bars, but the exact sentence is unknown.
