New Traffic Lights Being Tested Near "First National Shopping Center" in Minsk PHOTOS
An experimental zone has appeared on Kiryla Turauski street, next to the shopping center "First National Shopping Center". Various new equipment will be tested there to assess its effectiveness and convenience, reported the State Automobile Inspectorate of the Minsk City Executive Committee.

A pilot project for the implementation of new traffic regulation technologies has been launched in Minsk.
Specifically, they are testing:
- new vehicle and pedestrian traffic lights with a different design;
- special buttons for pedestrians, which can be used to request a green light;
- lighting that illuminates approach zones to pedestrian crossings.

A special feature of the new pedestrian traffic lights is that they have a square shape and can display animated images — for example, a moving human figure. In addition, they are capable of displaying text information.

If the project shows good results, similar solutions may appear in other parts of the city as well.
