Square Traffic Lights Being Tested in Minsk

The capital's State Traffic Inspectorate (STI) has organized a pilot zone in the city — new traffic lights will be tested in operation.

The crossing is located on Kiryla Turauski Street, near the «First National Shopping House» shopping center, next to the «Uskhod» metro station.

In addition to vehicle and pedestrian traffic lights, new buttons were installed there — a call panel for the permissive signal for pedestrians and luminaires to illuminate the approach zones to the crossing.

The traffic lights are square-shaped and display animated pedestrian figures.

The devices also have a function for displaying text information.

The State Traffic Inspectorate asked road users to take this information into account when choosing a route.
