In the EU, you will have to pay three euros for every item purchased online outside the European Union

The new regulation comes into force on July 1.

Starting July 1, residents will have to pay customs duty for goods purchased in online stores and on trading platforms outside the European Union. A regulation comes into force that abolishes the current customs duty exemption for parcels worth up to 150 euros, writes Delifi.lv.

To speed up the processing of inexpensive shipments, a simplified method of calculating the duty is introduced: a fixed customs fee of 3 euros will be applied to each item in the parcel.

If an online store or e-commerce platform (e.g., Temu, AliExpress, Shein, eBay) operates under a special VAT regime (IOSS), taxes can be paid already at the time of purchase. In this case, the buyer does not need to deal with customs clearance — this is handled by the seller or the delivery service.

Я когда-то заказывал сотни посылок с алиэкспресса от 1 цента до 1 евро благодаря ваучерам для новых покупателей, за тот же китайский товар в местных европейскихмагазинах надо было платить евро 10.Вот и цель этих пошлин: чтоб заработали на перепродаже китайского барахла европейские торговцы
