"I thought I was in the role of a doctor." Trump explained why he posted himself in the image of Christ
Donald Trump commented on the scandal surrounding an image he previously published on his social network Truth Social, where he was depicted in an image similar to Jesus Christ, writes CNN.

According to Trump, he did not intend a religious meaning for the image. Trump stated that he believed he was shown in the picture as a doctor helping people.
"I actually published it, and I thought it was me in the role of a doctor, and that it had to do with the Red Cross," he told reporters at the White House.
Trump also claims that the interpretation of the image as that of Jesus is an exaggeration, and only "fake news" media can do that.
"I just heard about it and said, 'How did they come up with that?' It's supposed to be me as a doctor healing people. And I actually do heal people," he said.
This photo previously caused a wide resonance and criticism, including among his own conservative supporters. After a wave of outrage, the publication was deleted.
The situation occurred against the backdrop of escalating relations between Trump and Pope Leo XIV. The US President criticized the pontiff for his stance on Iran, while the Pope stated that he is not afraid of criticism and will continue to express his position.
