Belarusian Film Studio to Make Full-Length Remake of 'The Adventures of Leopold the Cat'
The project is being created in a live-action film format: most characters will be played by actors, and the story's action will be moved to modern times.

The Belarusian studio "Kinatseh", which filmed the trilogy "Not Home Alone" and the comedy "Draniki", together with Welcome Media, has started work on the full-length film "Leopold". The film will be based on the stories of Anatoly Reznikov — the writer and director of the famous series of Soviet cartoons about Leopold the Cat, writes Blizko.by.
The project is being created in a live-action film format: most characters will be played by actors, and the story's action will be moved to modern times. The names of the cast members have not yet been disclosed.
According to the creators, viewers can expect a large-scale film story with action, stunts, humor, and Leopold the Cat's signature optimism.
Filming will begin in autumn 2026. The project will be directed by Uladzislau Bohush, who directed the films "To Grandpa's Village" and "My Dad is a Bear 2".
— Several generations of viewers grew up with the stories of Leopold the Cat. We want to preserve everything he is loved for — kindness, wisdom, and the famous "Guys, let's live in peace!", — and at the same time tell a new, grand, and spectacular story for a modern family audience, — noted producer Andrei Lipau.
— We are preparing a film about friendship and the ability to find common ground even in the most difficult situations. These values are timeless and understandable to any generation, which makes Leopold the Cat a truly universal film hero, — believes producer Maksim Maksimau.
