Frightened Moose Climbs Through Open Window Into House in Poland PHOTO
On July 23, 2026, the city guard in Piaseczno, Masovian Voivodeship, Poland, received a report of an unusual incident: a frightened moose entered one of the houses in the locality of Wólka Kozadowska through an open window, writes Onet.pl.
As the startled animal could pose a danger to the residents of the house, specialists from the Crisis Management, Civil Defense, and Fire Safety Department of the Piaseczno City Hall, as well as the SRS Animal Rescue Poland organization, joined the operation. City police officers also worked at the scene.
The main task was to safely remove the moose from the building. The services created conditions so that the animal could leave the house on its own. As a result, the moose, which entered the premises in a state of panic, exited to freedom by itself.
During its stay in the house, the animal partially damaged furniture, but no one was injured.
City police officers noted that the moose was likely frightened earlier — for example, by a dog running uncontrolled in or near forest areas. They reminded dog owners that even in open areas, pets must be under full control.
Frightened wild animals can behave unpredictably and be dangerous to both people and themselves.
