Owner of a seller company on Wildberries and Ozon convicted in a political criminal case
Maksim Kisel is a Minsk businessman with many years of experience and the founder of Globalplace, a company that helps Belarusian manufacturers sell their goods on marketplaces.
Maksim Kisel is 43 years old. He graduated from the Belarusian State Economic University with a specialization related to business and marketing.
Since 2012, Kisel has been the CEO of Globalplace LLC — a company that trades on Wildberries and Ozon and takes on the full cycle of work to bring other Belarusian manufacturers to marketplaces.
The man also developed his own coffee brand, Rooster. In addition, Kisel managed the branded store of the Belarusian youth clothing brand Cerber Brand and spoke at various business seminars and forums.
On February 28, 2026, the man was on vacation abroad — he published photos from Tyrol in the Austrian Alps. But immediately upon returning from abroad, he disappeared from social networks. It seems he was then placed in a pre-trial detention center.
Recently, he was sentenced in the Minsk City Court. Maksim Kisel was accused under parts 1 and 2 of Article 361-4 of the Criminal Code of Belarus — "assistance to extremist activities".
The businessman was sentenced to home chemistry (restricted freedom).
