The annual LGBT Christopher Street Day parade, held on Saturday in Berlin, was concluded prematurely. Police reported that a car crashed into parade participants near Tiergarten park, injuring several people.

“We are currently, together with numerous police units and rescue teams from the Berlin fire department, in the Grosser Tiergarten area. It is believed that a car drove into this area, hitting and injuring several people. Rescuers are assisting the injured. We are conducting an intensive search for suspects,” the Berlin police said in a statement on X.
The Bild newspaper, citing an eyewitness, reports that a white van crashed into a crowd of people in Tiergarten park at approximately 10:00 PM, after which the event organizers came on stage and informed the attendees:
“Unfortunately, we are forced to end the event prematurely due to the difficult situation that has arisen.”
The Pride organizers on X urged participants to go home.
Later it became known that one person died and 14 were injured in this incident. Such data was provided by the metropolitan police. Several victims sustained serious injuries.
The Bild newspaper published the first images of the white van that hit people in Tiergarten park. According to the newspaper, it deliberately ran over people, after which it crashed into a tree. According to the Tagesspiegel newspaper, a landing pad for rescue helicopters was set up directly in front of the Reichstag building.
