The Naval Forces of Ukraine stated the destruction of the Russian FSB border patrol ship "Izumrud" near the coast of Novorossiysk. According to the Ukrainian side, the ship was sunk by the Sargan-3000 marine unmanned complex. It is claimed that after a direct hit, it sank, and there are dead and wounded among the crew.

The "Izumrud" was launched in 2014. It was 62.5 meters long, had a displacement of up to 750 tons, was equipped with a helicopter pad, and could reach speeds of up to 27 knots. According to Ukrainian military intelligence, this ship participated in the incident in the Kerch Strait in November 2018.
Commander of Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces, Robert Brovdi, known by the call sign "Madyar," also reported that during operations in the Sea of Azov in recent days, Ukrainian units attacked dozens of Russian vessels, including tankers, dry cargo ships, and tugboats.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy previously stated that Russia has lost control over the situation in the Azov and Black Seas. According to him, Ukraine is consistently weakening the capabilities of the Russian fleet through strikes on ships, port infrastructure, and military facilities.
After previous strikes, Russia withdrew most of its Black Sea Fleet ships from annexed Crimea to Novorossiysk.
