Polish President Karol Nawrocki spoke out for a legislative ban on the red and black flag of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army on the country's territory.

Speaking on July 11 during events dedicated to the anniversary of the Volhynia tragedy, the President of Poland stated that he does not want to see this symbol in his country and expressed hope that the Polish parliament would adopt a relevant law.
According to Nawrocki, the red and black flag embodies the ideology of Ukrainian nationalists, who are accused in Poland of mass murders of the Polish population in Volhynia during World War II. He also noted that, in his opinion, this symbol has no place in a united Europe.
This is not the first time Karol Nawrocki has called for a ban on OUN and UPA symbols in Poland. The issue of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army's activities and the events of the Volhynia tragedy remains one of the main historical disagreements between Poland and Ukraine.
