"Two Misses from Both Words." Slutsk Shawarma Place Upset Belarusians with Errors in Belarusian-Language Advertising
The popularization of the Belarusian language among brands has become a trend. However, sometimes it turns out unsuccessfully. One such advertisement was noticed by Threads user Aliaksandra.

Another incident occurred in Slutsk. The "Barsuk" shawarma place made a banner with the inscription "Рыхтуем з каханнем" (Preparing with love).
From the perspective of Belarusian language norms, two errors were made in the short slogan.
Food is `гатуюць` (cooked), not `рыхтуюць` (prepared). And `каханне` (kakhannem - love) in the Belarusian language has a narrow semantic sphere—the word denotes deep romantic feelings between partners. However, the word `любоў` (liubou - love) is universal for expressing positive emotions—"love for work," "love for the homeland," "to cook with love."
In the comments, readers are outraged that the business owners approached their own advertisement so carelessly.
- "Two misses from both words."
- "It's like 'squirrels' in the ingredients."
- "Victims of Google Translate."
However, some readers still noted that the very fact of a business using the Belarusian language is a positive trend, even if it requires work to correct errors.
"Well, at least it's something. Even if it's incorrect, it's in the language," some users note, calling for more leniency.
"At least they're trying," others add.
