Trump intends to set a world record for the number of fireworks launched on the 250th anniversary of US independence
On Saturday, July 4, Washington will extensively celebrate the anniversary of the formation of the United States.

The culmination of the celebrations will be a grand fireworks display: according to American media reports, 850,000 pyrotechnic charges will be launched into the sky from ten locations. The show will last 40 minutes, Bild reports.
For comparison, in recent years, traditional fireworks in the US capital lasted a maximum of 25 minutes and included about 20,000 charges. This time, a world record is planned to be broken: according to the Guinness World Records, the current record is held by the New Year's celebration in the Philippines in 2016, when 810,000 fireworks were launched.
Commenting on the large-scale celebration in Washington, Trump stated: "We will hold the grandest Trump rally in history — in honor of America!"
Critics, however, note that the president has appropriated the historic date, turning the 250th anniversary of the United States into a massive act of self-aggrandizement.
