The President of Ukraine called it a historical anecdote.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine has already significantly undermined Russia's fuel supply, which is why the aggressor country, which traditionally exported energy carriers, is now forced to import fuel, including with the help of Belarus.
The head of the Ukrainian state said this during a conversation with journalists, answering a question about whether Ukraine is capable of preventing fuel supplies to Russia from neutral countries, such as India, China, and Kazakhstan, through diplomatic or other efforts.
"Honestly, your question sounds like a historical anecdote. Truly. A country like Russia, whose economy has always been oriented towards exporting its energy resources, is today trying to find fuel somewhere, somehow increase its ability to purchase and import fuel. So, will Ukraine prevent it? Ukraine has already prevented it. We have already done that," he said.
Zelenskyy added that Belarus is now also among the countries helping Russia with fuel.
"I think if Yeltsin had known that in 20+ years Russia, instead of exporting, would be importing energy resources because it, foolishly, decided to start a war, I think Yeltsin would have chosen a different successor," he noted.
Recently, Ukraine has intensified drone attacks on Russian energy infrastructure. This has significantly affected the fuel supply for the occupying forces, and in annexed Crimea, it has led to a complete cessation of fuel sales to the population.
