Loudly announced by Ryzhankov, basketball club "Shakhtyor" went bankrupt two years after its founding
The Salihorsk basketball club "Shakhtyor" in 3x3 format was created with the support of "Belaruskali" and was presented as a breakthrough for Belarusian basketball: a base for the national 3x3 team, an honored coach from Russia, participation in the Russian league. The result, however, is joyless — it's not even clear if the coach was paid off.

As became known to "Nasha Niva", yesterday, June 24, the basketball club "Shakhtyor" was declared bankrupt in a simplified procedure by the Economic Court of Minsk Region.
The club's debts amount to a little over a million rubles, while its assets are only 20 thousand.
However, everything started pompously — "Shakhtyor" was presented as the showcase of men's basketball in Belarus.
The club was founded in November 2023. Maxim Ryzhankov — then first deputy head of Lukashenka's administration and simultaneously chairman of the basketball federation — called this an important step in the history of Belarusian basketball and claimed that Salihorsk offered "the best conditions" for training the national team.
Honored coach of Russia Vladimir Agababyan was invited for the project — the very one with whom the Russian national team won silver at the Tokyo Olympics two years prior.
Agababyan was enthusiastic about the base, saying that even many Russian teams didn't have such training conditions.
"Shakhtyor" became the first foreign team in the Russian 3x3 basketball championship. Among its greatest successes was winning the open championship of St. Petersburg.

But a classical basketball team never emerged from the 3x3 team's base, and now even this team ceases to exist.
Official explanations regarding the reasons for the club's liquidation have not yet been provided.
