Judicial experts assembled a stool from pieces to help reconstruct the murder scene

In mid-March, a murder occurred in the Zheleznodorozhny district of Gomel. The man sustained numerous injuries, from which he died on the spot.

Among other things, the expert took numerous fragments of wood scattered throughout the apartment from the murder scene. These may have been the murder weapons.

Subsequently, judicial experts were tasked with determining whether these pieces previously constituted a single whole.

According to the results of a multi-object traceological examination (with 15 wood fragments as study objects), experts managed to almost completely reconstruct the original appearance of the stool and establish that it sustained damage as a result of a break after an impact, reports the State Committee of Forensic Examinations.

Previously convicted residents of Gomel have been detained on suspicion of committing the crime. On the day of the murder, they were consuming alcoholic beverages with the deceased. At some point, a conflict arose between the men, leading to the death of one of them.
