A retro car was spotted driving near the Minsk City Mall. The owner of the nomeroscanby account on Threads drew attention to it, as noted by Blizko.by.
The photographs show a classic Mercedes-Benz 190 SL (W121) roadster, produced by the German automaker from 1955 to 1963. This model was created as a more affordable and comfortable alternative to the legendary 300 SL supercar ("gullwing").
Many celebrities owned the car, including artist Pablo Picasso, The Beatles member Ringo Starr, and legendary singer Frank Sinatra. The latter appeared with it in the film "High Society" with actress Grace Kelly.
It is virtually impossible to buy an original collector's Mercedes-Benz 190 SL (W121) roadster in Belarus simply by an advertisement due to its extremely rare museum status. The car's price ranges from 90,000 to 170,000 euros depending on its condition. In rare cases, the price of collector's items after ideal restoration can reach 200,000 — 370,000 euros or more (from 680,000 to 1.275 million Belarusian rubles).
