Following an attack by Ukrainian drones, one of Russia's largest oil refineries, Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat in Bashkortostan, has halted operations.

According to information from Reuters agency, citing industry sources, as a result of the strike, two main crude oil primary processing units were damaged, as well as several secondary units and other equipment. Repairs could take from several weeks to several months.
The attack occurred on the night of July 14. The head of Bashkortostan stated that the key facilities of the enterprise were not affected and that the plant would be able to resume operations in the coming days. However, according to Reuters sources, production was completely halted.
The Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat plant produces gasoline, diesel fuel, aviation kerosene, and other petroleum products. In 2024, it accounted for about 2.7% of all oil refining in Russia.
Regular attacks by Ukrainian drones on Russian oil refining enterprises have already led to a decrease in oil processing volumes and created problems with fuel supply in some regions of Russia.
