Z-milblogger "The Thirteenth" Arrested on Extremism Charges

Russian "milblogger" Yegor Guzenko ("The Thirteenth") was accused of extremism after criticizing Putin and sent to a pre-trial detention center, his channel reports.

Russian Z-blogger and milblogger Yegor Guzenko, known by the pseudonym "The Thirteenth," was taken into custody on charges of inciting hatred or enmity (Art. 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), as reported by his Telegram channel. The channel's administration reported Guzenko's detention on July 8. Apart from "The Thirteenth" channel, no one else reported Guzenko's detention and arrest.

Details of the case are unknown, however, the arrest was preceded by a high-profile conflict with the authorities: in spring, Guzenko publicly accused Vladimir Putin of lying about the reasons for mobile communication outages, stating a complete loss of trust in the leadership of the Russian Federation.

After this demarche, the blogger was effectively punished by being sent to a "meat grinder assault."

Guzenko has been fighting against Ukraine since 2014 and regularly criticized the Kremlin for its ineffective conduct of the war.
