Criminal investigation officers quickly identified and detained the suspect. He was a 51-year-old resident of Salihorsk.
During interrogation, the man confessed that he committed the crime spontaneously. Having broken into someone else's outbuilding in search of valuables, he decided to take the jam first, because he is, as he said, a big sweet tooth. He tore off the copper wire to later hand it in at a scrap metal collection point.
Soon, the stolen preserves will be returned to their rightful owner. The man himself will have to answer for the theft, as well as compensate for the damage caused by the damaged electrical wiring. A criminal case has been opened against him.
