Trump pleased by prospect of personal meeting between Zelensky and Putin — "very good people"
U.S. President Donald Trump expressed support for the idea of a personal meeting between the leaders of Ukraine and Russia, Volodymyr Zelensky and Vladimir Putin, which Zelensky proposed today in his open letter to Putin.

Answering journalists' questions at the White House, Donald Trump noted:
"Well, I don't know. I'm glad they might be talking about a meeting. I think we had a lot in common before this. I certainly know what you're doing. But I think it would be great for them to meet. They need to resolve this matter."
At the same time, in his opinion, both Putin and Zelensky are "very good people."
Trump stated that he wants both countries to make certain concessions, and expressed his conviction that they would do so. Furthermore, he claimed that without the equipment provided to Ukraine by the USA, it would not last even two days.
