A new electric train EP5N, developed by the Russian company "TransMashHolding", was presented in Minsk at the international exhibition "Transport and Logistics-2026". For now, this is only a conceptual model — the real train was not demonstrated, only its virtual version was shown, writes Blizko.by.

The train is specially designed taking into account the specifics of the Belarusian railway. It is low-floor, which allows passengers to conveniently board and alight on the platforms common in Belarus.

The maximum speed of the train is up to 160 km/h, and the estimated service life is about 40 years. The train can include from four to ten cars.

Inside, modern conditions are provided for passengers: wide doors and aisles, spaces for bicycles and strollers, information screens, Wi-Fi, USB sockets, and chargers for electric scooters. Modern restrooms with additional amenities are also planned.

The driver's cabin is designed so that it can be controlled by one person without an assistant. For this, the console is centrally located, and comfortable working conditions are also provided.

Further implementation of the project depends on whether a decision is made to produce and purchase such electric trains for use in Belarus.
