A new dome has been installed at the observatory of the Minsk Planetarium. It has an electric drive, opening flaps, and the ability to rotate 360 degrees, reports "Minskstroy".

The observatory has already been plastered, and the installation of a spiral staircase is underway, which visitors will use to ascend to the platform under the dome to observe stars with the telescope. The staircase will be "assembled" by the end of May. All that remains is to paint the facade, install stained-glass windows, and make the apron.

There is more work to be done at the planetarium itself. Currently, builders are insulating the plinth, waterproofing the walls of the basement premises, and adding a porch to the rear of the building.
Plastering work is almost complete, and facade work has begun: walls are being insulated with mineral wool, after which decorative plaster will be applied and painted. This week, stained-glass windows and window blocks will be delivered to the site to close the building's shell.
And in June, builders plan to begin installing the roof.
