Materials of the Kamunikat.org website, which suffered a hacker attack, have been restored
A part of the materials of the Kamunikat.org online library website, which became the target of a hacker attack on May 7, has been restored. This was reported on May 8 to Radio Svaboda by Yaroslav Ivanyuk, founder of the online library and director of the eponymous publishing house.

According to Ivanyuk, the website will not be immediately accessible to visitors.
"First, all necessary measures must be taken to ensure there is no malicious virus," explained Yaroslav Ivanyuk.
He did not name the day of the website's full restoration, nor did he undertake to estimate in percentages the proportion of the online library's materials that have already been restored.
"The website has been virtually fully restored. We are now improving the structure to avoid similar attacks in the future. Work is ongoing, but it's difficult to say when it will be completed," admitted Ivanyuk.
Yaroslav Ivanyuk said that he informed CERT Polska, an institution of the Polish cybersecurity system – the internet emergency response team, which operates as part of the state research institute NASK ("Scientific and Academic Computer Network"), about the incident with the online library.
CERT Polska is responsible for responding to internet security incidents but does not have investigative competencies. There, Ivanyuk was heard, and they offered him to fill out the relevant documents regarding the incident.
"I also recounted the history of pressure and attacks on Kamunikat. They will act according to their objectives, and we will continue to fulfill ours. But I am now 100% convinced that this attack is not accidental and that not only we, but also the websites of other Belarusian cultural projects, have come under a similar threat."
Ivanyuk called on colleagues from Belarusian cultural projects to be vigilant.
"For us, it all started in October last year, when requests from IP addresses registered in China sharply increased. By November, there were already a thousand times more of them. We managed to repel an attack at the end of December, but the current attack was even more massive: we were simultaneously attacked from addresses in Taiwan, Singapore, Indonesia, and other Southeast Asian countries. Therefore, I would recommend colleagues to be vigilant, monitor suspicious requests, and promptly block the IP addresses from which they originate," Yaroslav Ivanyuk listed his advice in a conversation with Radio Svaboda.
According to Yaroslav Ivanyuk, work to restore the online library continues.
