Finnish President Alexander Stubb admitted that he was previously optimistic about a peace agreement in Ukraine, but now his views have changed. In his speech, he stated that he sees no signs that the Russian leader is ready for any concessions, writes UNIAN.
"I just don't see Putin changing his mind. I was optimistic for several months and worked on it, but ultimately it turned out to be classic Russian delaying tactics," Stubb stated.
Answering a question about security guarantees for Ukraine from NATO, Stubb noted that the Ukrainian army is currently the most reliable guarantee.
"I believe that the most reliable security guarantee Ukraine currently has is 800,000 well-armed servicemen and the ability to wage modern warfare in a way that no other NATO member country can," he emphasized.
The Finnish President added that the situation has actually changed, and "Europeans must understand that they need Ukraine more than Ukraine needs us."
Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine is ready for trilateral negotiations with the US and Russia regarding the end of the war, and such a meeting could take place in Azerbaijan. At the same time, he emphasized that this is possible "if Russia is ready for diplomacy."
A monument to pilots Nichyparchyk and Kukanenka was erected near St. Sophia in Polotsk. But not even a plane of the model on which they died, but a Stalin-era airplane
