Belarusians spent six days at a premium-class sanatorium in winter. How much did they pay?
Bobruisk resident Alyaksandr and his wife chose the "Vesta" sanatorium in the Minsk region for their vacation. MYFIN found out what they liked and if the cost was justified.
"Procedures for two cost an additional 1000 rubles"
— For many years, we've loved vacationing only in Belarus. The climate, the service, and the feeling that everything around is native appeal to us. We've also been to Egypt and Turkey, but we wouldn't say we're eager to return there. In search of a balance between cost and quality, we settled on the "Vesta" sanatorium, choosing a "light" package.
The package did not include specialized treatment, but for a quality reset, other things were sufficient: an aqua zone with saunas, a sports and gym, a doctor's consultation, and daily pleasant bonuses like aromatherapy and oxygen cocktails.
— The main impression is the cuisine. Meals were three times a day, "buffet" style; there was also an afternoon snack with yogurts and fruits. I'll be honest: this buffet was as good as excellent restaurants. There was always a selection of cheeses, including moldy ones, mussels, squid, and shrimp baskets. For lunch – fish and meat (beef, pork, chicken, liver). An abundance of fruits – from familiar oranges to pineapples, persimmons, and grapes. A good selection of delicious pastries.
Even if the couple arrived at the end of lunch or dinner, there was always enough food, and things were constantly being replaced and replenished.
Although they took a package without treatment, they still decided to buy medical services separately.
— Prices varied, from democratic to decent: massage of one area (15 minutes) and carbonic acid baths – 20 rubles each, electroamplipulse – 10 rubles. The most expensive pleasure turned out to be the electromagnetic chair – 60 rubles for half an hour. By and large, one could have taken three other procedures instead, although we liked it. In the end, procedures for two cost an additional 1000 rubles.
"The sanatorium is fully booked"
On the territory of the sanatorium, there are two lakes, a therapeutic walking path (terrenkur), and an outdoor swimming pool. Alyaksandr and his wife walked at least 15,000 steps a day and joked that this helped them not to gain extra kilograms after the generous meals.
— The lake hadn't frozen yet, swans and ducks were swimming actively — it was beautiful, a feast for the eyes. But we were told that as soon as snow falls, a whole different life begins here: skiing, tubing, a slide will be prepared. There's a cafe outside near the slide, they'll be serving hot mulled wine. We thought evenings would be boring, but we weren't allowed to get bored: sometimes a saxophonist performed in the bar, sometimes a cover band, sometimes a guitarist. For those who prefer more active entertainment, there's karaoke, bowling, and billiards.
The guests were also satisfied with their room. It was cleaned well, and drinking water was brought daily.
Thus, six days cost them 1040 rubles per person in December without procedures, or a total of 3080 rubles for two.
— Of course, we can't say the vacation was cheap, but the cost, in our opinion, was fully justified. Moreover, the sanatorium was at full capacity; it seemed completely "booked to the brim."
