Minsker went to get a job, and there he imagined a fire

In Minsk, a 27-year-old man who came to apply for a job at a private company was detained after he began to destroy everything around him, imagining that a fire was happening and that he was threatened with murder, writes the "Minsk-Novosti" agency.

According to the Frunzensky District Prosecutor's Office, the man had previously had problems with the law on multiple occasions. The day before visiting the company on Kamennogorskaya Street, he had consumed the psychedelic substance alpha-PVP.

Once there, it suddenly seemed to him that a fire had started. The man unrolled a fire hose and began "saving" people, breaking everything that came to hand. Simultaneously, he tried to escape from strangers who, he imagined, wanted to kill him. Company employees called the police and an ambulance.

The man was detained, and a new criminal case was later initiated against him. He fully admitted his guilt. According to the investigation, the damage caused to the company amounted to almost 970 rubles.

The charge was brought under Part 1 of Article 339 of the Criminal Code of Belarus — for hooliganism accompanied by a gross violation of public order, obvious disrespect for society, and damage to someone else's property.

Andrei Serbun, Deputy Prosecutor of Frunzensky District, reported that the accused was released from correctional facilities in September 2025. He was not officially employed anywhere and had previously been brought to criminal responsibility three times, including twice for crimes related to the illicit trafficking of prohibited psychoactive substances. His criminal record remains unexpunged.

The man has three minor children who are under state care due to their father's lifestyle. His wife has passed away.
