Abandoned toilet on the banks of Drazdy sold for the price of a two-bedroom apartment in Minsk
An abandoned public toilet on the bank of the Drazdy reservoir was sold at auction in the Minsk district. The new owner paid 268,552 rubles for it — almost 90 thousand dollars. For this price, a two-bedroom apartment can be bought in Minsk, writes the publication "Nash Portal".
According to the State Property Committee, the object is located on the territory of beach No. 5 of the Drazdy reservoir, not far from the agro-town Zdanovichy. This is not a temporary toilet cabin, but a capital building with an area of 192.7 square meters. Its purpose is not specified in official documents, but the land plot is allocated for the construction and maintenance of a public toilet.
Together with the building, the buyer received built-in electrical equipment, including an input device and a distribution cabinet.
The initial price of the lot was 255,763 rubles. Only one participant submitted an application for the auction, so the bidding did not take place. However, according to Belarusian rules, the sole applicant had the right to purchase the property with a 5% premium to the initial price. As a result, the price was 268,552 rubles. The buyer's name and their plans for the object are not disclosed.
For comparison, as of October 22, a two-bedroom apartment could be bought in Minsk for such money. For example, an apartment with an area of 48.5 square meters near a park on Pyotra Hlebki Street, 90, was offered for 265.9 thousand rubles. Another option was housing in a house after major renovations on Krasnaslabodskaya Street, 7, for 235.3 thousand rubles.
Similar objects have been put up for sale before. In 2024, in Minsk's 40th Anniversary of October Park, a toilet was attempted to be converted into a fish restaurant, listed for 130.8 thousand rubles. And in the summer of 2026 in Slutsk, they could not find buyers for a local brick toilet for 29.8 thousand rubles and a wooden toilet for 144 rubles.
