Two people died in an accident in Lida district

A 75-year-old driver of a VAZ car was driving on the M-6 highway towards Grodno. When turning, he failed to yield to an oncoming Volkswagen Passat, driven by a 21-year-old man, the Investigative Committee reports .

As a result of the collision, the VAZ driver died on the spot. His 71-year-old passenger was taken to the hospital, where she died from her injuries. The Volkswagen driver was not injured.

The Lida District Department of the Investigative Committee initiated a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 317 of the Criminal Code of Belarus — for violation of traffic rules resulting in the death of a person.
