Traffic at Bangalore Square in Minsk will change. Global innovations
What changes are planned?

Soon, the traffic scheme at Bangalore Square will undergo radical changes. Heavy machinery is currently working in the center of the roundabout, and soon the circular passage and the right turn from Surganava Street will be removed, writes Onliner.by with reference to "Minsk Courier."
In the future, the "Park Druzhby Narodau" (Friendship of Peoples Park) metro station will open at Bangalore Square, which is why construction work has been ongoing in that area for a long time, involving the relocation of utility networks. In connection with this, the traffic scheme is being redesigned again.
— We plan to introduce changes to the traffic organization at Bangalore Square in late November — early December 2026, — said project manager and deputy chief engineer of "Minskmetrostroy" enterprise, Sergey Grechkin. — Immediately after that, we will start constructing the platform section and the second vestibule of the future station. Today, the structures of the first vestibule are being installed on the roundabout itself, and inside the interchange, the station's perimeter is being built using the "wall-in-ground" method, along with waterproofing. Reversing dead-ends are being built towards Nekrasava Street — we expect to complete these works by early 2027. No other major changes for transport and pedestrians on M. Bahdanovich Street are currently planned.
According to the new scheme, the classic roundabout will no longer exist. A bypass from Arlouskaya Street has already been prepared: specialists have laid fresh asphalt, applied markings, designated a new regulated pedestrian crossing, and equipped a bus stop in the direction of Nekrasava Street.
Lane-by-lane traffic schemes have been redesigned:
- if driving from Nekrasava Street, from the outermost right lane it will be possible to turn onto Arlouskaya Street, while from the other three lanes, traffic can only go straight. Further, at the bend in the road, three lanes will direct traffic towards Kulman Street and another three towards Surganava Street;
- when driving along M. Bahdanovich Street from Kulman Street, a right turn onto Surganava Street will only be allowed from the first lane, while the other three lead exclusively straight. Immediately after the intersection, the road will widen: three lanes will go towards Nekrasava Street and three towards Arlouskaya Street;
- from Surganava Street, motorists will first have to turn left, and then will have the option to turn right towards Nekrasava Street from three lanes, and from the other two, turn left towards Kulman Street.

As noted in the message, public transport passengers should also study the scheme in advance: the "Bangalore Square" stops on Surganava Street in both directions have been moved towards Kuibyshava Street. However, on Arlouskaya Street (when moving towards L. Karastayanava), the bus stop will remain in its usual place. In the area of the intersection of M. Bahdanovich and Surganava Streets, near house No. 102 on M. Bahdanovich Street, a new regulated pedestrian crossing will open in the direction of Nekrasava Street.
Beyond it, a pedestrian path will run along the construction site to a new bus stop, which will replace the one currently located closer to house No. 88 on Surganava Street. Also, closer to Arlouskaya Street, a new regulated pedestrian crossing has been built. It will no longer be possible to cross M. Bahdanovich Street from house No. 88 in the direction of Arlouskaya Street, as a construction site will be set up in this area, and the work area will be fenced off. However, pedestrian paths along this house in the direction of Nekrasava Street will remain.
Whether Bangalore Square will return to its usual appearance after the opening of the third metro line is currently unknown, the publication emphasizes. In the future, new construction sites will be set up at the square, as well as on Surganava Street, for the fourth metro line.
