In Vitebsk region, DNA examination refuted the arguments of all participants in the paternity case
The story began when a man approached the court, claiming that he was the biological father of a minor boy. Since the child's mother was married to another person at the time of the child's birth, the official husband was automatically recorded as the father in the registry office. The plaintiff demanded that the husband's details be excluded from the birth record and that he be recognized as the father.
At the preliminary court hearing, the parties demonstrated rare agreement: both the child's mother and her legal husband fully supported the plaintiff's demands.
The husband officially stated that he was not the boy's father, and all three parties voluntarily agreed to a genetic examination, which seemed like a mere formality to those present.
The results of the DNA study completely turned the case around. Experts found that the biological paternity of the plaintiff, who was confident in his claim, was completely excluded.
At the same time, the paternity of the official husband, who publicly disavowed the child, was scientifically confirmed.
