According to the Iranian diplomat, the timing of the signing remains uncertain.
"We will have to wait and see exactly when the memorandum will be signed. Although it will not happen tomorrow, the possibility of such a development in the coming days cannot be ruled out," Tasnim agency quotes him as saying.
Baghaei clarified that the document should put an end to hostilities, while the discussion of nuclear issues is not foreseen at this stage.
Earlier, Pakistan's Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif stated that the US and Iran could approve a crisis settlement agreement within 24 hours for subsequent signing. The day before, Baghaei also spoke about the understanding reached on key issues and the final stage of internal coordination of the memorandum.
Reuters reported that the US and Iran could sign a war cessation agreement as early as June 14. The document provides for the lifting of sanctions on oil exports and the unblocking of Iranian assets in exchange for the opening of the Strait of Hormuz.
