Paid, but still became a violator: what mistakes drivers make in paid parking lots in Minsk
When you leave your car in a paid parking lot, the mere fact that money has been debited from your card does not guarantee that you will not be fined. Due to simple inattention, Minsk motorists regularly end up in databases as non-payers.

Specialists of the "Capital Parking" enterprise named to "Minsk-news" the main mistakes drivers make.
Payment Mistakes
Control in Minsk's open parking lots (operating from 08:00 to 18:00) is carried out manually: inspectors walk with tablets and check car numbers against the payment database.
Here's where drivers make mistakes most often.
When entering the car's license plate number, it is strictly forbidden to use spaces and hyphens. The number must be written exclusively as a continuous string. If you put a space, the system will not find the payment, and you will be issued a fine.
A curious, but common mistake is that drivers enter into the application or via SMS not their own car's number, but the number written on the information stand as an example (sample). The money goes to waste.
If parking is mistakenly paid for after 18:00, the money will be credited for the next day starting from 08:00 in the morning.
What to do if you made a mistake? If you realized that you made a mistake in the number or sent money to the wrong place, the situation can be corrected by urgently calling customer support at the short number 204.
Exactly 15 free minutes are given for passenger drop-off. If more, you have to pay. The fine for non-payment is 1 base unit.
Cameras See Everything
Specialists of "Capital Parking" monitor the situation at facilities in real-time from the central office. On computer screens, they see every movement of vehicles in parking lots anywhere in Minsk. Therefore, if necessary, it will not be difficult for dispatchers to accurately find out how long a car has been in the lot, identify a driver who refuses to pay, or find out who damaged the equipment.
Previously, some drivers tried to cheat: they would "tailgate" the preceding car and try to slip under an open barrier with it. Now, thanks to the video surveillance system and additional cameras, the numbers of such "trailers" are automatically recorded - both at entry and exit.
Raised the barrier by hand? A 100-fold fine
According to urban improvement rules, for intentional damage to property, losses are recovered from the culprit in a hundredfold amount.
A striking case occurred this year on March 25 on Zybitskaya Street. A taxi passenger, to avoid paying for exit, got out and manually raised the arm of the automatic barrier, after which the car drove away. The mechanism jammed, and the parking lot operated with disruptions for 40 minutes.
The camera recorded the face and license plate of the violator. The repair itself cost pennies - 54 rubles. But considering the 100-fold multiplier, the Minsk resident was billed 5,431 rubles.
