Maria from Grodno asked for a prom dress on social media. In response, she was offered a whole wardrobe — for free
Some offered delicate outfits, others — bright red floor-length dresses in which it's impossible to go unnoticed. There were also elegant black models and classic prom looks. Maria was shocked by the choice, people — by the mutual generosity and kindness.

This story began with a short post on Threads. A girl from Grodno named Maria wrote that she was looking for a prom dress. Due to financial problems, buying something nice was difficult, so she asked for help from anyone who might have an unused outfit.

Within a few hours, a real flash mob of kindness began under the post.
The first to respond was a girl who offered Maria her light-colored MUA brand dress. "May no financial problems prevent you from feeling your most beautiful," she wrote.

This comment garnered thousands of likes and hundreds of warm responses.
"Hanna, your act is pure inspiration! But even more touching were the people in the comments. Reading these responses, my heart rejoices. So much sincere warmth and kind words! Thank you to you and everyone who responded for bringing back faith in people together. You are wonderful!"
"I always say: Belarusians are kittens," people write in the comments.

One by one, girls appeared under the post, ready to part with their prom dresses for an unknown graduate.
Some offered delicate outfits, others — bright red floor-length dresses in which it's impossible to go unnoticed. There were also elegant black models, and delicate beige dresses with open backs, and pink cotton candy-colored outfits, and classic prom looks that still held memories of their owners' most important school evening.

Some girls offered more than just dresses.
"If you need shoes — I'll give them to you," one girl wrote.
Someone offered several options to choose from. And someone simply posted their photos and wrote: "If you like it — take it."

Dozens of enthusiastic comments quickly appeared under the post:
"Dear girls and women, you are so cool! Ready to give something for free to someone who is currently struggling. You are goddesses! May all this good return to you a hundredfold!"
"How many beautiful women in the comments — beautiful in appearance and soul."
"Girls who offer their dresses for free, may this kindness return to you with abundance."
"How pleasant it is to read how girls support each other. If you are reading this, know that you are wonderful!!!"

Interestingly, Maria herself ultimately did not respond under her post.

Perhaps she found the right option on another social network or simply hadn't had time to read all the messages yet.
And although Maria never appeared in the comments, the story had a happy continuation. The girl who was the first to offer her dress shared that after the viral post, several other graduates with similar situations wrote to her.

Judging by other comments under the post, while dozens of women were offering their dresses, other graduates who also couldn't afford an outfit started writing to them. As a result, some dresses did find their new owners.
