Cut mother's hair and forced her to eat it. Verdict delivered

In the Vawkavysk district, a resident of the agro-town Dubautsy, who nearly killed his 80-year-old mother with his own hands, has been convicted.

It all started back on December 19 last year. A drunk 44-year-old son demanded money for alcohol from his mother, and when she refused, he began to beat the elderly woman on the head, showering her with insults and threats. The next day, the situation repeated itself: another drunken scandal, demands for money, and a brutal beating. After this, the son simply left the apartment, leaving his disfigured mother lying helpless on the floor.

"Returning the next day, he found her on the floor in the same spot. When the woman began to crawl towards the landline phone to call for help, the accused grabbed the inter-room door and forcibly began to close it, striking the victim's leg.

Then he cut his mother's hair with stationery scissors, which he began to stuff into her mouth, demanding her to eat them, after which he struck her head with a rubber slipper with a wooden sole," the prosecutor's office reported the details.

After further abuse, he disappeared again, leaving his mother in critical condition. On December 22, the barely alive pensioner was found by neighbors who called an ambulance. Medics found that the woman had a closed head injury, multiple rib fractures, a fracture of the left femur, and bodily injuries to her head, torso, arms, and legs.

The court considered such actions not just beating, but intentional infliction of severe bodily harm with particular cruelty and abuse.

The result is 9 years of imprisonment in a maximum-security penal colony. The verdict has not yet entered into force and can be appealed.
