On the Russian-Latvian border, Russian customs officers found smuggled Belarusian cigarettes hidden in a wagon with beet pulp.

During an inspection of a freight train at the "Posin" customs point in Sebezhsky district, Russian customs officers found 25 briquettes of Belarusian-made cigarettes. They were hidden under a small layer of feed additive.
A total of about 12.5 thousand packs of cigarettes were found. Their value is estimated at more than 1.9 million Russian rubles (about 20 thousand dollars). In connection with this, a criminal case on the smuggling of strategically important goods has been initiated.
Another large consignment of Belarusian cigarettes was found in a warehouse in the Pskov region of Russia. About 224 thousand packs with a total value of approximately 34 million Russian rubles (about 455 thousand dollars) were seized there.
