Minsk plans to significantly update its public transport in 2026, with an emphasis on electric vehicles. In total, 164 transport units are planned to be replaced, writes the "Minsk-Novosti" agency.

Among the new transport units are more than 30 new articulated trolleybuses, which will be manufactured by the Belarusian plant "Belkommunmash".
Deliveries of the new trolleybuses will take place gradually: the first vehicles are expected in the middle of the year, and full contract execution is scheduled by October.
An innovation for passengers will also be introduced: ground transport will feature a system of buttons for self-opening doors. It will start operating from May 1 and will only activate after the transport has come to a complete stop. This will help maintain a comfortable temperature inside the cabin.
The transport update is being carried out within the framework of the capital's development program until 2030 and is aimed at improving the quality and environmental friendliness of transportation.
