Postavy Dairy Plant explained why it writes the shameful "Belorussiya" on its packages
A Twitter user published a photo of a butter package from the Postavy Plant, where "made in Belorussiya" is written. And while commentators debated whether it was a fake, one Belarusian obtained an explanation from the plant.

A photo of a butter package, posted by a user under the nickname Lozanna_na_Obi, went viral on Twitter. On the wrapper it is written "Made in Belorussiya".
The woman who published it was herself surprised by the find:
"Found Belarusian butter in the fridge, and you won't believe it...".
Commentators actually didn't believe her. The woman clarified that she herself always uses the word "Belarus" and not "Belorussiya"; she was just surprised that a Belarusian plant itself used the word "Belorussiya".
But she was assured that Belarusian butter in such packaging could not exist:
"Made in a Mytishchi garage."
"There is no such butter in Belarus. Another counterfeit, made in a basement."
"Only Russians can write something like that on butter."
Nevertheless, the butter actually turned out to be Belarusian. A user under the nickname le_xeyka wrote to the Postavy Dairy Plant and asked if that butter was produced in Postavy. And the plant acknowledged its product.
The Belarusian was explained that the butter was produced by order of the Russian retail chain "Monetka" as that chain's own brand:
"The inscription on the package is permissible, it is not forbidden by anything or anyone, although personally it grates on our ears very much. But, as they say, he who pays the piper calls the tune. Precisely such an inscription is a requirement of the client."
The plant also clarified that they have been cooperating with "Monetka" for more than 10 years. All graphic design of the packaging belongs to the client, meaning the Russians are the authors of the entire design of that wrapper.
